Pippa is a beautiful Powder Puff Puppy being fostered in the Atlanta, GA area. She is continuing to go through rehabilitation with her foster home, including a training class she just completed!
Pippa looks adorable but beneath that exterior lies a troubled past of physical and mental abuse. Although she is coming along very well with her rehabilitation some things can trigger those memories, at times she appears to experience post traumatic stress syndrome. I takes weeks for Pippa to feel comfortable enough to build trust in a new relationship, she will need a home with someone experienced with dogs and who uses positive reinforcement.
Pippa is a very playful very high energy puppy and is very smart which all means she is good at finding things to amuse her that might not always be the right things. Pippa looks like a Border Collie and acts like one. If you don't want the drive of a Border Collie then Pippa is not the dog for you. If you don't have a large yard for her to run and burn off energy then Pippa is not the dog for you. Pippa is a high flight risk therefore needs a secure fenced yard. If you require a dog to spend hours in a crate then Pippa is not the dog for you because she can be vocal. Pippa plays well with other dogs and would value a dog buddy who will run and wrestle with her. An avid hunter, she loves to chase squirrels or any other small rodents and birds. She gets along well with cats.
Pippa is a very affectionate dog who loves to cuddle and be held knowing she is in a safe place. She wants to sleep on the bed and have someone to return her love without the fear of pain or punishment. Pippa is clean in the house. As with Powder Puffs she doesn't shed but does require frequent combing and brushing to prevent matting of her hair.
If you are patient, loving, kind and willing to help her continue her rehabilitation then Pippa might be the right dog for you.
