Jagger is a very sweet senior who's one desire is to be loved and cared for. When Jagger came into Bald is Beautiful rescue he was emaciated with fleas, ear mites, inch long nails and rotting teeth and a heavily matted coat. Jagger was so starved he could only eat small amounts without vomiting. Some of his hair had to be shaved to remove the matts but we managed to save his mane. We had to build up his weight to have his mouth treated. With his dental, 5 teeth had to be removed (including 4 upper molars) and he was placed on antibiotics to treat the infected gums. This made a big improvement in his personality because without the constant pain he no longer spent much of his day sleeping.

 Jagger likes to follow his favorite person around the house and to cuddle on the couch but still likes to retreat to his bed for occasional naps during the day. Jagger is clean in the house provided he is given the opportunity to go outside. He will also use pee-pads and has never been seen to lift his leg. Jagger is a gentle soul and gets along with other dogs providing they are not bossy. He ignores cats. He may be hard of hearing but we are still evaluating because the ear mites could have caused temporary problems or it may just be a senior thing.

 In his foster home Jagger eats meals in a crate to avoid having larger dogs steal his food and sometimes he will go into an open crate to nap and travels well in the car crated but he would not be too happy to be locked into a crate for longer periods. Sometimes following a nice meal he will retire to his bed and wash his face like a cat, licking his foreleg and wiping it down his muzzle.

 Jagger would do best in a quiet home without young children. He doesn’t require the companionship of another dog but does need an owner who will continue to provide love and ensure his health and physical needs are met. He needs a forever home with an owner he can trust to never let him down. Jagger may be a senior but he is still a rock star.
