Joey is a goofy, happy powderpuff boy, estimated to be about 1 yr old. He is 14 lbs of energy and fun. He loves playing, with toys inside or fetching a ball outside. He enjoys going on walks, too. Really, anything that allows him to be in the companionship of his people makes him a happy boy. His favorite activity? Cuddles. Oh, he will melt right into you.

Since Joey came to us severely matted, he was clipped down to get a fresh start. His new family could choose whether to keep his hair short or grow it out, or alternate between a summer/winter haircut. He is a joy to groom, the perfect gentleman and his coat is VERY soft. Feels lovely.

Joey loves to run and play. He has a good bit of energy and needs daily exercise. He loves the company of other dogs but needs a confident companion. His type A personality can be too much for submissive or timid canine friends. He is by no means over the top or dominating... really, he just needs a confident owner and companions who will help him settle into his place in the pack. He is being fostered along with very dog-savvy cats, but does give chase once in a while. He would not be a good match with nervous or anxious cats.

Joey sits up and patty cakes when begging. He gets very excited at meal time and will patty cake continuously. Joey attaches very quickly to his person (or people) and would love a family where he gets lots of activity and attention. He would not do well left home alone for long periods of time. When home alone, he needs to be crated or he would likely get into something. He is a bed-shredder, but towels and blankets are perfectly safe.

Joey would be best suited for a home with a fence or frequent access to a dog park. He has done very well on his house manners, but only potties in the yard-- not yet on a walk. A confident dog friend, or he would be fine as an only dog. Once Joey loves you, he loves you with his whole heart. There are no half measures with this sweet boy! He gives 100%.
