Description:
Eddie is new to our foster home.  What I have observed about him so far is that he was shy for about a minute and then strongly attached to me as in he is my llittle shadow.  Wherever I go, he is right behind me.  He is a great walker, walking 4 miles at a good clip either alone or as part of my 6 pack.  He is a well behaved walker not pulling.  He enjoys car rides.  He does have a high prey drive and should not be off leash in places that are not fenced.  Birds not so much of a draw, but the little critters running around that he sees he wants.

He had a few accidents the first couple of days but is doing so much better.  Getting to know his schedule has helped with that.  Going with him each time to brag on him is also getting him going towards knowing where to go.  He quiclky learned to use the doggie dog!  He still squats much of the time.  It is like he is playing pee limbo....how low can he go!

He enjoys treats.  He does not readily want to share his food or his chew toys and will go after any dog that does not understand that these are "HIS."  Other than these times he gets along with my 6 pack that includes one boxer girl and 5 Chinese Cresteds (girl and boys). I am closely monitoring the situation if I am feeding all at the same time.  This too has improved greatly with only a few stern corrections.

He barks at children and stangers when they come into the house.  Not sure he had much experience with either.  We are using treats to encourage him to be more relaxed.  He barked at my husband at first but now they are buddies.  He ignored the cat at the vet's office.  I would want to further test him with cats if this is important.  He also ignored treats there so I do think he was a bit freaked out.  He was fine with the vet checking his teeth while I held him even though he was scared.

He is crate trained but would love to sleep with his family.

He had a tuft of very coarse hair growing down his back and around his neck.  You can see it in some pictures.  I did shave it off so that he is a pretty hairless boy!  He has a cool very smooth chest with black spots.  He is a one of a kind dog with a tough look about him.

His breed and age are both guesses.  His age is a guess based on his teeth by a vet.  If you were to base it on how he acts you would think he is a young dog.  He is so full of life.  He wants a friend to play with in the worst way but my pack is middle aged and aren't buying it for the most part.

As far as breed, we do think there may be terrier or Xolo in him.  The spots look suspiciouly like Chinese Crested.  Whatever his genes are he is one neat dog!

Bottom line is I believe this to be a very smart little guy and that with time and more life experiences I think the sky is the limit!  If you want more information about this swet, unique boy, contact his foster mom at [email protected] or better yet get the ball rolling and apply to adopt him!  He is being fostered in Northumberland, PA  17857 until time to go home for good.
