Adoption Pending!!!
Happy, kid loving, active, young Poodle is searching for his forever home. Meet Alton, really cute little guy weighing only 11 pounds, which is a great size. He is big enough to go on hikes but small enough to travel with. Alton is about 1-1/2 years old.
Alton is friendly and polite with people, enjoys being held and will melt into your arms if you give him the chance. He wants very much to sleep in the big bed with his foster family, but for the time he sleeps on his fluffy bed on the floor with out a fuss.
Alton walks well on a loose leash, has made wonderful progress in the area of being house broken and will use the doggie door on his own any time day or night. He will ask to go out if he does not have free access to the yard but it took a little while to learn his cue because he is not a pushy boy.
He enjoys sniffing the cat but does not offer to chase and Alton is great with kids. He and my 3 year old Grandson are good buddies.
Alton does very well with playful dogs that are not timid, he does best with large dogs.
Alton spent several weeks in the pound before he came into rescue... this poor boy was so sad and scared. We are happy to report that he feels much better but he still becomes concerned if he is put in a crate with the door shut. Those awful days being in the pound are still too fresh in his puppy mind.
He will do well in just about any home as long as he has a playful doggie friend to rough house with or his people are home most of the time. This is very important to Alton to help him feel loved again. A very large family would be ideal or a small family with lots of time to devote to him. He is very smart and needs to be kept stimulated or he will make up his own games.
Are you the family that Alton has been waiting for? Please give him a chance, it is hard on the little guy being so fluffy in a hairless dog rescue.
