Truly stunning! Geoffrey is a hiarless Chinese Crested boy, about 2 1/2 yrs old, with a beautiful spotted pattern and a sweet, gentle personality. He came into our rescue in need of treatment for heart worms, which will be completed on June 25. He has done very well in foster care, learning all about routines and how great it is to cuddle up on the couch with that special someone.

When Geoffrey first arrived, he was a bit overwhelmed. Since settling into foster care, he has decided that life with people and other dogs is pretty awesome! He can still be easily startled, but he recovers quickly, looking to his person for direction and reassurance. Geoffrey would be a perfect candidate to attend basic obedience training with his new owners. He is VERY smart and attentive, and eager to please. Training would give him that boost of confidence to help keep him moving towards being his best self.

Geoffrey has done very well on his house manners, thanks to the need for crate rest during his heart worm treatment. He enjoys our daily walks around the block and will happily potty on a leash or in the yard. He is a good eater and very treat motivated. He has also shown a little interest in toys. Before his activity was restricted, he had awesome running playtime with his buddy Joey, and so we hope once he's back to normal activity level, we'll see him running and playing, and having fun again!

Ideally for Geoffrey, a home with a fenced in yard is preferred. We have not tested him around kids, but he would probably do best in a home that's quiet, without a lot of noise or startling activities. There are cats in his foster home, which he ignores. He has done well with his foster mom working (home at lunch breaks) but we can see that he has the potential to develop separation anxiety if he is left home for too many hours on end. He would really enjoy another dog in the home, both for modeling beheavior and learning routine, as well as playtime.

We are accepting applications now, with the understanding that Geoffrey cannot be adopted until his vet clears him at the end of June. Questions are welcome at [email protected].
