What can leap tall beds in a single bound?  Chase and retrieve a ball in 5 seconds flat?  Walk for an hour and still be ready for more?  Why that is our SUPER Phoenix!

Phoenix is a dog that I believe would be up for ANYTHING you are!  Mountain climbing? Agility? Jogging? Fast walking for miles?  Play ball?  YES YES YES YES and Yes! This is an active dog that needs daily activity and stimulation to fulfill his energy needs.

And yet by the same token he does very well in chill mode, happily snuggling with his loved one on the couch while you read, watch TV or use the computer.  He is even content to take some down time all by himself if no one is available.
 
He is a beautiful example of his breed with almost perfect black soft skin and big soulful brown eyes that are always looking at you.  He LOVES kids and is sturdy enough to make him an acceptable choice for an active family with children. 

He does get along with other dogs with one exception.  He has shown food and chew toy guarding.  I am currently feeding him separately to avoid conflict.  He is happily intergrated into my pack of 5 Chinese Cresteds and 2 large boxers.

He is crate trained and loves to go for rides in the car.  I understand he is good with cats but I have not had the opportunity to confirm this yet.  He did bark at my medium sized parrot and medium sized lizard but was easily redirected.

Phoenix is a high-energy, smart, and loving dog that will need an owner committed to keeping his energy directed in positive ways. American Hairless Terriers are terriers, after all, and they have that personality mix of smart and determined that makes them so responsive to training and leadership. A home willing to provide this to Phoenix will help him reach his full potential.
