Meet this little gruffin named Mickey .... a lovely gentleman with an adorable underbite, big beautiful brown eyes and some wild crazy hair!  He is calm, low key and easy going.  His favorite activites so far in his foster home: napping on the couch watching tv, sunbathing in the backyard, following his human around the house, and playing independently with plushy toys.  He LOVES plushy toys and takes his time surveying all the plushy toys before deciding upon which one to choose. He will chase a plushy toy but it doesn't last long as he then wants to sit and nibble the toys.

He is fine with older kids but hasn't been tested around very young children yet.  He hasn't been cat tested but I don't think he would even engage a cat.  He hasn't engaged my own 2 dogs yet so I think he would be fine as a solo dog.  He is certainly fine with other dogs too and gives off an easy going calm vibe.  He is very well mannered and waits his turn for a treat.  

He seems to be all about his human.  He follows his foster Mum around the house and likes to be near her.  He is a tiny bit hesitant around his foster Dad but is definitely warming up to him.  I think he just needs a bit of time to suss out men on his own time.  When foster Mum is out of the house, Mickey then sits near foster Dad so the bonding is progressing well.  He is extremely easy to bathe and has enjoyed the few car rides so far. 

If you've heard of Grumpy Cat, you might think Mickey is "Grumpy Dog." But don't let that face fool you... There's NOTHING grumpy about him!  When you combine that underbite with those big, dreamy eyes .... well, he's a sweetheart.  He is loving, has a sweet disposition and enjoys attention (his little tail wags when I talk to him).

Mickey is approximately 7 years old, and some kind of mixed breed. We wonder if it's Brussels Griffon and Chinese Crested. He weighs about 19.5 lbs but could stand to lose a pound or 2:)

What we're looking for in Mickey's Forever Home:
Mickey is a wonderful companion dog and would get along in a home with or without other dogs; with or without a fenced yard (if no fenced yard then an area to do his business nearby but I think he would love a backyard for relaxing and sunbathing); and with any home that is fairly routine and not too busy. He walks very well on a leash but is currently a bit cautious of loud noises, sudden movements (kids darting around), etc.  He is progressing along well but my guess is that he was used to a backyard and didn't get out for many walks.

He is being fostered in Ashburn, VA (Northern VA area). He's neutered, chipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for his forever story to begin!
